Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Rana Sanaullah said on Thursday that the people did not accept the narrative of saving the country from default.
Speaking on Samaa TV programme, Sanaullah stated: “We had asked Asif Ali Zardari to assume the office of president so that the government could become stronger.”
“The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) should have discussed the matter with the prime minister in line with the appointment of the IRSA chairman silently. It will become easier to run the government due to the finance minister and interior minister,” he added.
Sanaullah said: “There was also an opinion within the PML-N that there is no need to do the experiment again as we have already faced harm.”
“Shehbaz Sharif was elected again as he knows how to handle things,” he added.
He said: “We were having the narrative of saving the country from default. But the people had not accepted our narrative of saving the country from default.
– Country faces hardships –
Earlier this month, Sanaullah said that the country was facing severe hardships.
Expressing his thoughts, the former interior minister said: “Maulana Fazlur Rehman is not angry at me. We want to retain the leadership of Maulana Fazlur Rehman. He [Fazlur Rehman] is our leader, as we had difficult times during the tenure of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).”
“The meeting was held with Fazlur Rehman in a good way,” he added.
