Pakistan's taekwondo team has celebrated a significant triumph at the 6th Asian Open (Kyorugi) Taekwondo Championship held in Indonesia.
Competing with 12 players, the team not only demonstrated exceptional skills but also emerged as the top team among participants from 21 countries.
A standout performance came from Abubakar, who defeated India's champion Aman Kumar to clinch the gold medal.
The Pakistani contingent comprised three women and nine men, showcasing a balanced representation of the sport.
Out of the 12 players, eight earned medals, with the team bringing home a remarkable haul of three gold, three silver, and two bronze medals. The tournament also honoured Pakistan as the best team, reflecting the players' hard work and dedication.
The Pakistani women athletes also excelled, contributing to the team’s overall success. With this outstanding achievement, the players have made their nation proud, shining a spotlight on Pakistan on the international stage. The success in Indonesia serves as a testament to the talent and determination of Pakistani athletes.
