Popular Pakistani actor Ali Safina has launched a scathing attack on the hit drama Tere Bin, calling it "Tere Dustbin".
Safina, who is currently starring in the dramas Jaisay Aapki Marzi and Mannat Murad, made the remarks during an appearance on the FHM podcast.
"Tere Bin was a massive hit, but it was also a mindless story," Safina said. "People made memes out of it, and not everyone was a fan. I think it's a fair assessment to call it Tere Dustbin."
He went on to criticize the overall standard of work in the Pakistani drama industry, saying that bad scripts and bad working conditions are a major problem.
"I think we need to raise the bar," he said. "We need to be more selective about the projects we take on, and we need to demand better working conditions. We can't keep making dramas like Tere Dustbin and then expect people to take us seriously."
Safina's comments have sparked a debate on social media, with some people agreeing with his assessment and others defending the hit drama.
One X user wrote, "Ali Safina is spot on. Tere Bin was a mess. It was full of clichés and bad acting."
Another wrote, "I actually liked Tere Bin. It was entertaining, and I thought Yumna Zaidi and Wahaj Ali were great in it."
