The political landscape in Punjab continues to shift as two independent members of the Provincial Assembly joining the ranks of the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N).
Ahsan Raza Khan, representing PP-180 Kasur, and Colonel Ghazanfar Qureshi, representing PP-128 Jhang-4, met with PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday and announced their decision to join the party.
In a meeting presided over by Vice President of PML-N, Maryam Nawaz, both Ahsan Raza Khan and Colonel Ghazanfar Qureshi formally announced their decision to join the party. Their decision reflects a strategic move towards consolidating political strength and fostering unity within the opposition ranks.
Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome extended by Maryam Nawaz, both independent members highlighted the importance of consulting with the constituents before making such a significant decision.
They emphasized their commitment to working in alignment with PML-N's vision and policies, aimed at steering the country towards stability and development.
In response, Maryam Nawaz underscored the pivotal role of collective support in steering the nation away from challenges towards a path of progress and prosperity. She reiterated her determination to lead Pakistan towards stability by addressing prevailing issues and implementing comprehensive strategies for the development of Punjab.
This development further strengthens PML-N's position in the assembly, particularly in Punjab where they are currently the largest party but require additional support to form a stable government.
On the other hand, two independent candidates who secured seats in the Balochistan Assembly, Wali Muhammad and Abdul Khaliq Khan, have decided to join the Pakistan Muslim League (N). Their decision was announced during a meeting with the President of PML(N) and Prime Minister-designate, Shehbaz Sharif.
The meeting, attended by party officials including provincial president Jafar Khan Mandukhel and party leader Jamal Shah Kakar, marked a significant moment as Wali Muhammad and Abdul Khaliq Khan pledged their allegiance to PML(N).
Shehbaz Sharif extended warm congratulations and a heartfelt welcome to the newly joined members, acknowledging their role in promoting stability within Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of unity in addressing the nation's challenges, advocating for dialogue and cooperation as the keys to progress.
