Lahore Press Club (LPC) President Arshad Ansari strongly condemned Ravi Urban Development Authority's (RUDA) strategy of allotting plots to journalists on Friday.
Ansari asserted: "It infringes upon the rights of senior and deserving journalists." He vowed not to tolerate theft and expressed a commitment to engage in a comprehensive legal battle against such practices.
Ansari accused RUDA’s officers and employees of prioritising personal gains, contributing to a new corruption narrative under the guise of benefiting journalists.
He emphasised that this approach completely overlooked the genuine representative organisation of journalists, the Lahore Press Club.
The LPC declared RUDA’s actions both "legally and morally incorrect," asserting that the unjust treatment and the apparent favouritism displayed by RUDA towards those close to them will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Moreover, the LPC announced that it will register a strong protest against the injustice suffered by journalists, with the involvement of state media and senior officials of the RUDA.
Simultaneously, legal action is underway, with consultations initiated with legal experts, and positive outcomes are anticipated in the near future.
