Sunni Ittehad Council’s Malik Amir Dogar felicitated newly elected Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, saying he had the honour of becoming the speaker for the third time.
Speaking on the floor of the House after the speaker's election, he asserted that his party fought the election along with protests over the reserved seats issue because they wanted to be a part of this House and maintain its dignity.
“I got 91 votes, and you got 191. I am a single party, and you are seven parties,” he remarked, calling the February 8 election a “silent revolution”.
“If the result was announced as per Form 45, my votes would have been 225,” he said, adding that on February 8, the brave people of Pakistan stamped on PTI founder’s ideology, struggle.
Dogar said, addressing the speaker, that his party had won 180 seats in the assembly, but then “another election” happened on February 9 and “you and your leadership” knew that mandate was stolen through Form 47.
He said if they had those 180 seats as well as the reserved ones, then the PTI would have been the single largest party in the assembly. He also alleged that the 91 members in the House were under a lot of pressure until that morning.

Dogar regretted that the mandate of the voters was neither considered nor respected or recognized. “If this drama was to be played, then what was the need for spending Rs50 billion of the nation?” he questioned.
He said it was not an election, but a selection done through an “auction” where bids were announced and these seats sold. People were brought to this House as members for billions of rupees, he added.
He moreover said the prices of electricity and gas had increased tremendously in a month, adding that people were dying. He questioned if this assembly will become supreme that has stolen their mandate.
The opposition leader demanded the mandate of their seats won should be returned. “Our reserved seats as per 91 members should be returned,” he added.
He then regretted that the violations of private lives was violated in the last 10 months to an extent that has no example.
