Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader Ghulam Mustafa Shah was sworn in as the Deputy Speaker, marking a crucial development in the parliamentary proceedings.
The oath-taking ceremony was administered by the Speaker, Ayaz Sadiq, in the presence of fellow lawmakers.
Ghulam Mustafa Shah, the candidate from the PPP, secured victory in the election for the position of Deputy Speaker with an impressive tally of 197 votes. This victory underscored the support and confidence placed in Shah by his fellow party members.
The competition for the Deputy Speaker position included Junaid Akbar Khan of the Sunni Unity Council, who garnered a notable 92 votes.
The overall voting turnout was substantial, with 290 votes cast for the Deputy Speaker position. It is worth noting that one vote was rejected during the counting process.
