Presidential hopeful Mehmood Achakzai engaged in a crucial meeting with Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chief of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), to discuss pertinent political and national matters.
During their deliberations, he sought JUI-F chief’s support for his candidacy in the upcoming presidential election.
The meeting delved into various parliamentary and national issues, including concerns regarding alleged election rigging and the subsequent election results. Achakzai, representing the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), emphasized his candidacy and appealed for votes in the presidential race.
In response, Fazlur Rehman conveyed that he would deliberate on the matter upon his return from visits to Sindh and Punjab. Scheduled to arrive in Islamabad a day before the presidential election, his decision holds significance in shaping the electoral dynamics.
