Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has declared its support for Shehbaz Sharif’s candidacy for the Prime Ministership, marking a significant political development in Pakistan.
Following a meeting between the MQM and PML-N delegations, Mustafa Kamal affirmed the longstanding alliance between both the parties, emphasizing their joint commitment to Shehbaz Sharif's victory in the upcoming election.
In a joint press conference held in Islamabad, Mustafa Kamal reiterated MQM’s unwavering support for Shehbaz Sharif, expressing confidence in his leadership abilities and vision for Pakistan’s future.
Emphasizing unity and collaboration, Kamal highlighted the importance of the PML-N president’s success for the welfare of the Pakistani people.
Rana Tanveer Hussain, a leader of the PML-N, extended gratitude to MQM for their endorsement of Shehbaz Sharif. He acknowledged Shehbaz Sharif's personal efforts to secure MQM's support, despite health challenges.
He revealed that the PML-N president intended to personally seek MQM’s support, but due to health concerns, he was unable to do so. Instead, Rana Tanveer Hussain was delegated to approach MQM representatives, who graciously agreed to support Shehbaz Sharif’s bid for the Prime Ministership.
Furthermore, the MQM made a clear declaration of their support for Shehbaz Sharif in the Prime Ministerial election. Regarding the possibility of supporting Asif Zardari in Sindh’s gubernatorial and presidential elections, MQM kept the door open for dialogue, indicating a willingness to engage in discussions should the need arise.
