Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Sunday felicitated Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on becoming the country’s premier.
Expressing his thoughts, Abbasi said: “I would like to congratulate Shehbaz Sharif on becoming the prime minister by bagging 201 votes.”
“I am hopeful that Shehbaz Sharif will utilise all his experience in a bid to lead the country towards development and prosperity,” he added.

Separately, PML-N leader Marriyum Aurangzeb said that newly-elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will steer the country towards economic prosperity.
Expressing her thoughts, Marriyum said: “It is good news for the country that Shehbaz Sharif has been elected the country’s premier. Now the journey of uplifting the youth will be started.”
“It was Shehbaz Sharif who saved the country from defaulting. Now the country will witness economic and political stability.”
Marriyum said, “Now the process of revamping all the sectors will be started following the harm caused to all the sectors in the past four years.”
She added, “Now the era will start where the country will witness prosperity in the fields of IT and sports.”
