Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Muhammad Khan has condemned the alleged Sunday night raid on the residence of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party head Mehmood Khan Achakzai, who is also the Sunni Ittehad Council-backed PTI's candidate for the president's election.
Speaking to the media at the Election Commission of Pakistan on Monday, he underscored the need to avoid resorting to divisive tactics despite political differences. Calling the raid unfair, he said they would get Achakzai elected as president through the real votes of Form 45, and hoped JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman would support PTI Founder Imran Khan in this path of righteousness.
Khan also emphasized the importance of upholding democratic principles and fostering unity within the political landscape. "We hope the right will win and there will be a good fight."
While acknowledging political differences, Khan urged for constructive dialogue and cooperation among all stakeholders. He expressed hope that Maulana Fazlur Rahman would support PTI's founder on the path of righteousness.
Ali Muhammad Khan also reiterated the PTI's unwavering support for the Pakistan Army, emphasizing the party's respect for institutions and commitment to upholding constitutional values. "The entire nation stands with Pakistan Army. We have a lot of respect for institutions," he commented.
He further stressed that politics was the work of politicians, adding that they wanted the country to function according to the Constitution. "We can solve all the problems in parliament by sitting together," he added.
Moreover, Khan reflected on the message of resilience and reconciliation conveyed by PTI Founder Imran Khan from jail, stating, "The PTI founder has said that he does not believe in political vengeance," he stressed.
