Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui made it clear on Tuesday that corruption will not be tolerated within the party.
Siddiqui chaired a meeting of the MQM-P Rabita Committee. On this occasion, the elected lawmakers were directed to visit the party office once a week in their respective constituencies.
Sources divulged that the elected lawmakers had been instructed to listen to the masses’ concerns.
The MQM-P leadership had decided to finalise the name of the opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly following the consultations.
– Siddiqui stresses need for upholding democracy –
Siddiqui stressed the need for upholding democracy in the country.
Expressing his thoughts, Siddiqui said: “The democracy cannot be strengthened unless the participation of the masses in the process is ensured.”
He underscored the importance of the supremacy of the constitution, saying, “Everybody needs to follow the country’s constitution.”
“We would not let the leader derail the democracy for the election of the speaker and deputy speaker tomorrow,” he added.
