Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan claimed on Wednesday that the poll results "changed for the first time in the country’s history".
Addressing the press conference in Islamabad, Khan said: “The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had uploaded the results. We had 180 seats. According to Form 45, we had won 110 seats in Punjab."
“We will also provide the results of the constituencies from which we were deliberately defeated,” he added.
Khan said: “There existed also such constituencies where the turnout was deliberately increased, even over 100 per cent.”
Meanwhile, PTI leader Taimur Jhagra asserted: “The number of votes had been changed from 378 to 1378 in the constituency of Nawaz Sharif.”
“We would have emerged victorious on 110 seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) out of 115, if rigging had not held,” he said.
– 'Opposition is not being treated fairly', asserts Barrister Gohar Ali Khan –
Few days back, Khan said that the opposition is not being treated fairly.
Expressing his thoughts, Gohar said: “We are having reservations about not airing Omar Ayub’s speech live. We have recorded our protest before the speaker.”
“It will be difficult to remain united if same attitude is directed towards the opposition,” he added.
Separately, Ayub called for an impartial inquiry into the events of May 9, and also demanded to release of the PTI's political detainees.
Addressing the post-PM voting session of the National Assembly, Ayub stressed the need for justice, stating that the PTI leadership had been unjustly detained as political prisoners.
He also urged for adequate facilities to be extended to Bushra Bibi.
