There are rumors that Motorola is preparing a new Edge series flagship, but it looks like leak pictures will ruin the surprise when it's officially shown. Along with a preview of its appearance, rumored specifications indicates that it would be equipped to beat Samsung's Galaxy S24 Ultra.
What appears in the marketing illustrations of the next Motorola Edge 50 Pro, which is expected to launch in the US market as Motorola Edge Plus (2024), have been obtained by Android Headlines.
Based on the supposed product images, it appears that Motorola is determined to retain its distinctive design aspect. The upcoming member of the Edge family will have a stunning curved display and a slim side profile, just like the previous two generations of high-end phones.
It appears that Motorola will be doing further design trials in 2024. The simulated leather surface finish of the purple tint seems to have been influenced by the treatment Motorola has recently applied to some of its foldable phones. Next up is the black version, which seems to take cues from the previous OnePlus phones' sandstone surface.
Lastly, a white shade with a shiny side frame similar to platinum. We're not sure if the finish is modelled after fabric or something else entirely like the superb OnePlus 11 Marble Odyssey Edition.
The minimalistic camera island in the back, which perfectly complements the rest of the rear panel. Similar styling was most recently seen on the Oppo Find X5, which comes in a gorgeous pearly white shade.
According to the sources, the smartphone will have a 6.7-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 165Hz, which is among the highest for a smartphone, gaming or not.
Top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor with up to 12GB of RAM powers the device inside, while the triple camera array at the rear is led by a 50-megapixel main sensor.
The Motorola Edge Plus (2024) has exceptional performance in the field of charging technologies. It may be the fastest-charging phone on United States soil thanks to the 4,500mAh battery housed inside that sleek body, which purportedly enables 125W wired fast charging.
To put things in perspective, those numbers are almost three to four times greater than the flagship phones from Samsung and Apple that are being released this year.
Furthermore, it is rumored that the next phone will feature 50W wireless charging, which is even quicker than what wired charging has allowed Apple and Samsung to do thus far. Motorola appears to be attempting to overtake OnePlus, which at the moment permits 100W charging for the OnePlus 12.
The Motorola Edge Plus (2024) is supposedly going to be released on April 3 in China, however the release date for the US market is still unknown.
