In a surprise visit to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) headquarters, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi vowed to crack down on corruption and improve the agency's efficiency.
Naqvi directed that all pending promotions within the FIA be processed and completed within the next 30 days. He emphasized that resolving these long-standing cases would serve to motivate officers.
Expressing his unwavering stance against corruption, the minister emphasized a zero-tolerance policy, stressing that corruption would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He reiterated his commitment to transforming the FIA into a world-class institution, free from the scourge of corruption.
Highlighting the importance of the FIA's role in various sectors, Naqvi called for effective measures to combat issues such as fake medicines and power theft. He also emphasized the critical need to counter human trafficking and sought a report on the recent Yemen boat accident.
He further emphasized the need to review the performance of officers stationed abroad and develop comprehensive plans to tackle issues such as smuggling of dollars and fraudulent entry and exit from the country.
Additionally, the interior minister stressed the importance of addressing the Hawala Hundi reference case with effective measures, signaling a comprehensive approach to tackling criminal activities within and outside the country.
Furthermore, the Interior Minister called for a multi-pronged approach to tackle various national issues. He emphasized the need to take decisive measures to eliminate the sale of counterfeit medicine, a serious threat to public health. Additionally, Naqvi urged the FIA to play a more active role in preventing power theft and human trafficking.
