The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) Monday ordered re-polling in the constituency with the consent of the parties in PB-50 Qila Abdullah constituency of Balochistan.
Lawyer Waseem Sajjad argued that re-polling was ordered only in the polling stations where his client was successful. “My client Zumard Khan also took the oath, the Election Commission of Pakistan suspended the notification,” he argued.
“There is a discrepancy in forms 45 and 47 where Zamrad Khan won,” the lawyer of JUI candidate Malik Nawaz argued in the court.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faiza Isa said: “Don't take the court into such subtleties and parties could file the appeal there. The court could not sit and hear four 400 election cases.
“If the parties agree, polling is conducted again in the entire constituency,” the CJP asked. The Supreme Court has ordered re-election in PB-50 Qila Abdullah constituency of Balochistan.
ANP's Zamrad Khan challenged the Election Commission's order.
Who won from PB-50?
Zamrad Khan of ANP was successful from PB-50 Qila Abdullah. Zamard Khan's victory was challenged by JUI's Malik Nawaz in the ECP. The ECP had ordered re-voting at six polling stations. Zamrad Khan himself brought the matter to the Supreme Court.
