The Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) has finally nominated members on key positions within the opposition ranks in the Punjab Assembly. Sahibzada Hamid Raza, head of the SIC, announced the nominations.
Malik Ahmed Bhachar has been appointed as the opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly, while Moeen Riaz Qureshi has been designated as the deputy opposition leader.
Sahibzada Hamid Raza said that Mian Aslam Iqbal, initially nominated for the opposition leader's position, was not being allowed to take oath as an MPA. Therefore, the new appointments have been made in consultation with Mian Aslam and PTI Founder Imran Khan.
He further explained that Bhachar has been appointed on the position temporarily to ensure effective representation within the opposition.
