Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti directed on Monday the dismissal of 2,000 absentee teachers across the province.
The directive came during a high-level meeting convened to address concerns within the education department, where Chief Minister Bugti underscored the imperative of ensuring diligent attendance among educators.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Bugti instructed the Chief Secretary of Balochistan to expedite the process of dismissing the absent teachers and to furnish a comprehensive report within a month.
Stressing the need for strict adherence to meritocracy, he further asserted that district education officers must be appointed solely based on merit, signaling a departure from any undue interference in educational affairs.
Providing insights into the financial aspect of education in the province, Chief Minister Bugti highlighted that a substantial amount of resources, amounting to 5,625 rupees per child per month, is allocated for educational purposes in Balochistan.
Moreover, he revealed that approximately 72,000 rupees are expended per child annually, underlining the government's commitment to providing quality education and investing in the future generation.
