Punjab Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Thursday that the phase-wise ban will be imposed on plastic bags from June 6.
Environmental expert Parvez Hassan called on Marriyum Aurangzeb. On this occasion, the matters in line with the improvement in the air quality index (AQI) in Punjab and environmental challenges were discussed.
"Under the leadership of the chief minister, the smog litigation plan has been prepared. The work has been done for the legislation in a bid to end smog and cope with the environmental challenges."
Moreover, Hassan had given key proposals in a bid to end smog.

Punjab Finance Minister Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman vowed to uplift the province.
Expressing his thoughts, Rehman said: "We have started to work on 28 projects. We will continue to bring improvement."
He lashed out at the opponents, saying, "The inept and corrupt person was imposed in the country in 2018."
"The journey of development that was stopped in Punjab has started again," he added.
Rehman maintained: "I would like to express my gratitude to all the lawmakers for taking part in the budget debate."
