Rifts in PTI over NA opposition leader slot
National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has now issued a notification for the opposition leader.
The appointment of the Leader of the Opposition and the Parliamentary Leader in the National Assembly was delayed due to disagreements over the issue of the Leader of the Opposition and the Parliamentary Leader within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Sources claimed that instead of Umar Ayub nominated by the founder of PTI, former speaker Asad Qaiser himself came forward for the important post. Former Speaker Asad Qaiser met Speaker Ayaz Sadiq in the past few days and demanded not to issue the opposition leader's notification for now.
