The opposition political parties resolved on Tuesday to contact other political parties for the "joint struggle".

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), Balochistan National Party (BNP), and Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) attended the meeting.
It had been decided to uphold the constitution and democracy. The opposition parties resolved to work for the independence of the judiciary and civil supremacy.
"There exist serious threats to the country's constitution and democracy. There would be no compromise on the country's constitution," said the statement.
The statement said: "The joint meeting denounced the poll results on February 8, which were changed."
"Transparent, free, and impartial elections should be held in the country. No compromise would be done on the supremacy of the parliament," said the opposition political parties.
Moreover, the meeting denounced the detention of the political leaders and workers.
The opposition political parties had expressed their reservations over the "worst" inflation, exorbitant prices of power and petroleum products.
On the other side, the sources divulged that Mahmood Khan Achakzai was expected to meet Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman this week.
Rehman will be given an invitation to join the opposition alliance.
According to the sources, the JI will also be given posts in the opposition alliance.
