The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued notifications confirming the success of candidates elected to the Senate in the recent elections.
The notifications include candidates from various provinces and seats, including general, technocrat, women's, and minorities seats.
Notifications have been issued for the success of 12 Senate candidates each from Punjab and Sindh, while 11 senators from Balochistan have been notified as successful. Additionally, notifications for both Senate seats from Islamabad have been issued.
Moreover, notifications for successful candidates on seats reserved for women and minorities have also been released.

Among the successful candidates from Punjab, nine senators belong to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and one each from Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen and Sunni Ittehad Council.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has emerged victorious as an independent candidate from Punjab, while Ahad Khan Cheema, Pervaiz Rasheed, and Allama Nasir Abbas have been notified successful on general seats, along with Hamid Khan, Talal Chaudhry, and Nasir Mehmood.
Additionally, notifications for technocrat seats have been issued for Muhammad Aurangzeb and Musadik Malik. For women's seats, notifications have been issued for Anusha Rehman and Bushra Butt, while Khalil Tahir has been declared successful for a minorities' seat.

From Islamabad, notifications have been issued for the success of Rana Mehmoodul Hasan on a general seat and Ishaq Dar on a technocrat seat.
Senate chairman election
Meanwhile, the election for the chairman of the Senate is likely to be held on April 9, for which the PPP has reportedly called all its senators to Islamabad.
Moreover, PPP's Yousuf Raza Gilani, Khurshid Shah and Naveed Qamar have initiated contact with other parties, while Gilani has also contacted former caretaker prime minister and newly inducted senator, Anwarul Haq Kakar.
Gilani is also scheduled to host an Iftar dinner in the honour of all the senators on April 8. The PPP is confident the former prime minister will get 60 votes for the chairmanship election. The PML-N will name the deputy chairman in the next 24 hours.
