In a special conversation with Samaa, former caretaker interior minister Brigadier (retd) Haris Nawaz rejected the allegations of the Sindh government claiming that during his tenure from August to February, the crime rate was low in Karachi.
He said that he was surprised by the statements of ministers, we did good reforms in our tenure.
Haris Nawaz called unemployment and the ban on jobs for 15 years as the main reason for street crime. He said that every MPA and MNA wants their officers to be posted in police stations.
He further said that he had never accepted political pressure and he also advises Sindh government, that good investigating officers should be appointed permanently in police stations.
He expressed that the Kacha issue is political and sardars were involved in incidents.
He claimed that sardars also have bought MNAs and MPAs. Haris Nawaz revealed that robbers picked up policemen from checkpoints.
