The Sindh High Court has delivered its verdict, dismissing the petition filed against the unopposed victory of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Aseefa Bhutto Zardari.
The court deemed the allegations leveled against Aseefa Bhutto Zardari in National Assembly Constituency 207 as unfounded and baseless, leading to the dismissal of the petition.
The petitioner, Ghulam Mustafa Rand, had previously filed a similar petition before the Election Tribunal, which was also rejected on similar grounds.
The court highlighted that the petitioner's attempt to challenge the election result at this stage, after the successful candidate has been notified and sworn in, is not permissible.
Furthermore, the court emphasized that the evidence presented by the petitioner, particularly regarding the disqualification of the PTI candidate in NA-207, lacked factual basis and justification.
