The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has raised serious questions over the recent intra-elections of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. The commission has sought a written response from the party on its reservations.
The political future of the PTI is in jeopardy, as the election commission has also expressed reservations about the elections and meetings of the party's general council, central council without intra-party elections.
The ECP asked that if the intra-party elections of the PTI have not been held for five years, then how are the various party organizations working. It was of the opinion that there is no body of the PTI left, nor does it have any election symbol.
It should be noted that the ECP had objected to the PTI's new intra-party elections. After the preliminary hearing on April 30, the PTI was directed to submit its reply.
