The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is prepping up for the next general polls, and according to the commission the number of registered voters in Punjab is over 72.3 million.
According to the voters list in Punjab as seen by Samaa TV, the number of registered voters is 72.310 million. Since 2018, there has been an increase of 11.637 million voters in the province.
According to the documents, there are at least 38.720 million male voters registered in Punjab, while the number of registered women is omen is 35.990 million.
In comparison to 2018, the number of women voters in Punjab increased by 6.598 million in the last five years. The number of male voters increased by 5.039 million since 2018, the documents state.

The documents state that the highest number of voters out of all 41 districts of Punjab is in Lahore district with 6.724 million registered voters.
The lowest number of voters in Punjab is in Murree district with 290,931 voters, as per the documents.
An election commission spokesperson said the next general elections will be held on these voters lists, adding that they will not be amended.
Separately, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has approved changes to 18 clauses of the election rules, with a 15-day window for objections to be raised.
One significant change requires candidates to open a separate bank account specifically for election campaign expenses, prohibiting the use of joint accounts.
