The Superintendent of Adiala Jail Rawalpindi has excused the newly appointed Chief Commissioner of Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa for keeping more suspects as inmates brought from Islamabad in the Beggar Act.
Adiala Jail superintendent made it clear in a letter written to chief commissioner of Islamabad.
Adiala can keep 2174 accused but currently, there are about 7,000 prisoners.
“Most of the accused brought under the Beggar Act are disabled, injured, drug addicts, or prostitutes. The jail administration has to face some difficulties while keeping such accused in jail,” he said.
