During a heated session in the National Assembly, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif demanded the posthumous application of Article 6 against former dictator Ayub Khan, and Ayub’s body should be exhumed and hanged for violating the Constitution.
The National Assembly session resumed after the brief break for Maghrib prayers. Opposition members shouted slogans during Khawaja Asif's speech.
Khawaja Asif said he support the imposition of Article 6 on those who violate the Constitution and that former dictator, Ayub Khan should be taken out of his grave and should be hanged.
“PTI Cabinet decided to impose Article 6 against me,” Defense Minister Asif reminded SIC Umar Ayub. “Article 6 should start with fake field marshal and Article 6 should be added to the constitution at the time of no-confidence,” Khawaja Asif.
Khawaja Asif said Sher Afzal Marwat was kicked out from PTI for meeting with the NA speaker and with the defence minister.
Opposition leader Omar Ayub's speech emphasized the importance of upholding democratic principles.
Omar Ayub called for an independent judicial commission to investigate the 2024 Elections and May 9 events.
The session was interrupted by slogans and passionate exchanges.
