The Sindh Education Department has officially announced summer vacations in all public and private schools across the province from June 1 to July 31, according to a recent notification.
The summer vacations will be announced as per the decision of the Steering Committee, according to a notification of the education department.
The notification says that the proposal to announce summer vacations in advance on the pattern of Punjab had been under consideration. On the other hand, the Met Department had declared that there would be no heatwave in Karachi in May.
The Met Department has forecast continued hot and dry weather across most parts of Pakistan. The central and southern regions are expected to experience exceptionally high temperatures, intensifying the ongoing heatwave.

In Sindh and Punjab, daytime temperatures are projected to rise 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above normal from May 21 to 23. This temperature increase is expected to intensify, reaching 6 to 8 degrees Celsius above normal from May 23 to 27.
On Monday, the Punjab School Education Department had revised the schedule for summer holidays in public and private schools across the province. According to a notification, all government and private schools of Punjab, including Lahore, will be closed from May 25 now.

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said a large number of private schools contacted the government regarding early summer holidays.
Earlier, due to the severe heat wave sweeping across Punjab, the provincial government announced summer vacations from June 1 to August 14.
