The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) has intensified its crackdown on electricity thieves in the city, with 490 more illegal connections exposed and 37 individuals arrested in its latest operation on the 20th day of the campaign against the "Kunda mafia" (power theft).
This effort to curb power theft has seen a total of 595 arrests and cases filed against 238 electricity thieves.
Lesco's crackdown has covered various areas, including Ferozepur Road, Bagh Munshi Ladha, and Ravi Road.
During this operation, the illicit connections were disconnected, and consumers were found to be pilfering units worth over 40 million PKR.
The ongoing campaign against the Kunda mafia has seen significant success, with the number of arrests and illegal connections discovered steadily increasing.
