JUI-F MNA Noor Alam Khan has submitted an amendment bill to the National Assembly Secretariat for the proposed amendment to the Civil Servants Act to ban the dual citizenship of government employees.
The proposed amendment bill stated a civil servant with dual citizenship will not be eligible for appointment and such employees put their national interest at ‘stake’ and leave the country after retirement to avoid accountability.
JUI-F Member National Assembly Noor Alam talking to SAMAA TV said the ban on dual citizenship of lawmakers already exists meanwhile dual citizenship of judges and government employees should also be banned.
“No judge and government employee should be allowed to hold dual citizenship as government employees make sensitive decisions,” Noor Alam emphasized.
“Both bills have been submitted in the National Assembly for this purpose,” he added.
