Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari is expected to arrive in Lahore tomorrow (Wednesday).
A significant district-level meeting was conducted, chaired by Acting Punjab President Rana Farooq Saeed.
All districts have been asked to provide details of candidates for both national and provincial constituencies.
Mr Bhutto-Zardari is expected to be given the list of candidates during his visit to Lahore.
– PPP hits out at Siraj –
PPP leader Faisal Karim Kundi on Monday lashed out at Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Sirajul Haq.
In a reaction to the press talk of Mr Haq, Mr Kundi said: “Sirajul Haq should not misguide the masses for the sake of cheap publicity stunts. Sirajul Haq needs to have information of the negotiations made by the PPP with independent power producers (IPPs).”
“If the PPP had not reached an agreement with the IPPs, the country would have been dragged into a quagmire today,” Mr Kundi added.
Mr Kundi stated: “During the tenure of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Sirajul Haq was the senior minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).”
“The country’s economy would have been strengthened if the industrial zones were established,” Mr Kundi said.
On the cards
Few days back, PPP senior leader Manzoor Wassan said on Tuesday that there is a possibility of his party’s alliance with the PTI.
Sindh Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) member Nisar Ahmad Durrani held a meeting with Mr Wassan On this occasion, Mr Wassan presented the proposals of the PPP to Mr Durrani in line with the elections and delimitation.
