The weather across Pakistan today will remain extremely hot, especially in the plains, as a heatwave continues to grip the nation.
However, there is a possibility of a storm at various places in the country post-afternoon.
Despite the blistering heat, there is some relief in sight for certain regions. In the evening, rain is anticipated in parts of Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Potohar region. Islamabad may experience rain accompanied by wind and thunder later today, as per the Meteorological Department's forecast. At night, showers are likely in Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Kohistan, Shangla, Kurram, and Bajaur.
Rain is also expected in areas such as Attock, Chakwal, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Gujarat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, and Lahore. Additionally, rain with thunderstorms is predicted in Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Murree, and Galiyat.

In Balochistan, the weather will remain very hot, with dusty winds expected to blow in the northern districts. Similarly, most districts of Sindh will experience high temperatures, with the upper districts facing particularly severe heat. The coastal areas of Sindh are likely to experience dusty winds as well.
The Met Department says dusty winds are likely to blow in the coastal areas of Sindh. It says temperatures are expected to soar to unprecedented levels in several areas, with Nawabshah and Mohenjodaro reaching a scorching 52 degrees Celsius.
Multan, DG Khan, and Bahawalpur will also experience intense heat, with temperatures forecast to hit 49 degrees. Lahore will see the mercury rise to 46 degrees, Islamabad to 41 degrees, and Karachi to a relatively cooler 38 degrees.
The authorities have advised residents to take precautions against the heat and stay hydrated. Those in regions expecting rain and thunderstorms should also prepare for potential weather-related disruptions.
