Federal Minister for Privatisation and Communications Abdul Aleem Khan visited Tajikistan, where he held fruitful discussions with the country's Prime Minister, Qohir Rasulzada, and other high-ranking officials.
During his meeting with Prime Minister Rasulzada, Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Tajikistan.
The Tajik premier reciprocated the sentiment, assuring that "Tajikistan's doors are always open for bilateral cooperation."
The two leaders exchanged gifts and expressed gratitude for each other's hospitality. Abdul Aleem Khan also met with the ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan, including the Ministers of Transport of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, and the Deputy Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan.
The meetings focused on boosting cooperation in trade, communication, and transportation, with discussions centered around increasing bilateral trade, road connectivity, and business-to-business and government-to-government trade with Central Asian countries.
Abdul Aleem Khan also held a productive meeting with Tajik Minister for Mineral Reserves, Ahmedzada Noor Mehmed, exploring opportunities for Tajikistan to export sugar, potatoes, textiles, and other food commodities, including livestock, to Pakistan.
Terming his visit to Tajikistan as "useful," Abdul Aleem Khan expressed optimism that practical progress would be made on bilateral trade issues, paving the way for enhanced economic cooperation between Pakistan and Central Asian states.
