Lahore High Court conducts hearing against election commission on request of Sunni Ittehad Council.
MPA Ahmar Rashid Bhatti filed a case against the Election Commission of Pakistan on the issue of recounting.
The request was heard by Lahore High Court Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza. It was argued in the appeal that, based on the results of Form 45, PTI leader Ahmar Rashid Bhatti had won the general elections with 29390 votes. With 28427 votes, PML-N's Shahzad Nazir finished in second place.
Ahmar Rashid Bhatti was pronounced successful by the Election Commission. Shahzad Nazir, the defeated candidate, did not file a complaint. Following the election, the Election Commission sent out a notice for a recount at the candidate's request. Following the attorneys' arguments, the court reserved its judgment.
