Federal Minister for Planning, Ahsan Iqbal, voiced strong criticism against a political party, accusing it of undermining Pakistan’s relationship with China through what he described as “dirty politics.”
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, he emphasized the need for the state to rise above political maneuvers, asserting that national interests should prevail.
Iqbal highlighted concerns over a specific political party’s tactics, alleging that they engage in trolling and disrespectful behavior towards judges and the military. He condemned such practices as undemocratic and harmful to the country's institutions and stability.
Regarding recent developments in Pakistan-China relations, Minister Iqbal praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's successful visit, which focused on enhancing cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and expanding defense to space collaboration.
He emphasized the significance of the MM1 project in further bolstering ties between the two nations, dismissing any notion of strained relations.
“Despite efforts by a political party to undermine our relations, Pakistan and China have forged stronger bonds,” the minister affirmed, underscoring the importance of constructive diplomacy and mutual respect in international affairs.
