Punjab Home Department imposed Section 144 across the province issuing a notification banning public gatherings, processions, rallies and sit-ins amid security concerns.
Article 144 will be implemented immediately in the whole of Punjab, according to which jalsa, procession, rallies, sit-ins and protests have been banned throughout the province.
Section 144 was implemented for protection, the ban was applied in view of the threats of terrorism, according to the notification.
The public crowd may be a soft target for terrorists in view of the threats and implementation of Section 144 in the public interest.
Section 144 has been imposed until June 27 Thursday.
