Defense Minister Khawaja Asif announced that any military operation will require approval from the federal cabinet and will be discussed in parliament.
Speaking during a National Assembly session, Asif expressed grave concerns over the ongoing terrorist attacks in various regions, including Swat and Faisalabad, which he described as a national shame.
Addressing the opposition, Asif criticized their disruptive behavior during parliamentary discussions, accusing them of indulging in politics of abuse and violence. He emphasized that the opposition remains aligned with the actions of May 9, criticizing their past and present conduct.
Asif highlighted the opportunistic nature of some opposition members who switched allegiances for personal gains. He condemned the opposition for not supporting the country's interests and standing against national martyrs and with terrorists.
Asif stressed the plight of minorities in Pakistan, acknowledging the increasing violence against them. He called for a unified stance in the House to protect minority rights, stating that it is the state's responsibility to ensure their safety. He lamented that incidents against minorities are a national disgrace, urging for immediate and collective action to safeguard them.
