Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif in a message released on World Anti-Drug Day reiterated the Punjab government’s commitment to a drug-free province for a better future for youth.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized the devastating impact of drug use on individuals and families.
Speaking at a press conference, she stressed the urgent need for collective action to combat this pressing issue.
“Drug use destroys lives and families, said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. “We have to unite to fight this menace.”
Maryam Nawaz urged all citizens to spread awareness and support those battling addiction. She highlighted the Punjab government's comprehensive strategy to curb drug trafficking and use, which includes strict measures and educational initiatives.
"Education and awareness are key to stopping drug abuse," she remarked, underscoring the importance of informing the public about the dangers of drug use.
Maryam Nawaz has ordered indiscriminate action against drug trafficking networks, signaling a zero-tolerance policy towards those who profit from the drug trade. She called for a united front in this battle, appealing to every citizen to play an active role in the fight against drugs.
“A collective effort is needed in the war against drugs," she declared. "Every citizen should actively participate in this cause."
Expressing solidarity with drug victims and their families, Maryam Nawaz assured them that they are not alone. "You are not alone in this battle," she affirmed, extending her support and commitment to those affected by drug addiction.
