A joint investigation team (JIT) has declared PTI leader and former minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi guilty in seven cases involving the May 9 tragedy, including the attack on Lahore’s Jinnah House.
According to the JIT report, Shah Mahmood Qureshi provoked people through his social media accounts after the arrest of PTI Founder Imran Khan.
The police claims that the JIT found Qureshi guilty on the basis of conflicting statements and evidence. He provoked people through his social media accounts after the arrest of Imran Khan, it added.
The forensic analysis of the videos posted on the social media accounts of Qureshi was also included in the JIT report. It said the PTI leader could not answer the questions about the events of May 9, 2023 satisfactorily, according to the police.
They further said that his polygraph test conducted in the jail also indicated lies. Qureshi’s involvement in the incidents of arson and violence has also been proved through digital evidence.
The police said the JIT interrogated Qureshi in Adiala Jail. In all the seven cases, the investigation report has been submitted to the court after finding Qureshi guilty in them.
The police said the JIT went to the jail thrice to record Qureshi’s statements.
