The once marginal Hindutva ideology has become a central theme in Indian politics under Narendra Modi's leadership.
Extremist Hindu factions have systematically eroded India's secular identity, making way for a Hindu nationalist agenda.
Recently, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified efforts to transform the Indian Parliament into a Hindu Rashtra.
BJP MLA T. Raja Singh Lodh advocated for the election of 50 hardline Hindu MPs in the Lok Sabha to promote the Hindu Rashtra agenda without fear or hesitation.
"We need MPs with a strong Hindu mindset who are ready to make any sacrifice to turn India into a Hindutva state," said BJP MLA T. Raja Singh Lodh. He also called for the immediate termination of government schemes for minorities accused of religious conversion.
BJP leaders have imposed various religious restrictions on Muslims, including banning animal sacrifices during Eid al-Adha. "We have ensured that any Muslim will think a hundred times before slaughtering a cow," said a BJP MLA.
With Modi's third term in office and no Muslim ministers in the cabinet, the push for a Hindu rashtra has drawn international concern.
Human rights organizations are urged to take concrete steps to protect Muslims and other minorities in India.
