The Punjab government has refused to provide Rangers security to the Chief Election Commissioner for six months as the Punjab Home Department has approved Rangers security for three months.
Rangers’ security will be provided to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) until September 30— only three months instead of six months.
The caretaker government had approved security provisions to the Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja for six months from January 1. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had written a letter to give Rangers security for another six months till December.
