The Government of Pakistan has reported significant progress on development projects in Balochistan, with 43 out of 57 national-level projects currently underway. These initiatives span various sectors including education, healthcare, infrastructure, and employment.
Key features of these projects include allocating 80% of jobs to local people along with royalties, and implementing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives across multiple areas.
In the education sector, new schools are being built, scholarships awarded, and teaching positions created. For instance, Chamalang has seen the establishment of 3 new schools, 4,315 scholarships, and 3,937 teaching jobs.
Healthcare improvements include the construction of medical complexes, hospital upgrades, and provision of ambulance services. In Duki, a medical complex and boys hostel are being built, along with water filtration plants.
Infrastructure development focuses on road construction, water supply schemes, and power projects. Saindak is seeing significant water and energy projects.
Job creation is a major focus, with thousands of positions being created in various sectors. The Reko Diq project alone is expected to generate 5,000 jobs by 2028.
Other notable initiatives include OGDCL's 263 scholarships and a trauma center in Jhal Magsi, and PPL's technical education program for 3,000 students along with hospital upgrades.
The government affirms that these development efforts will continue to promote prosperity in Balochistan.
