Senior actress Javaria Abbasi has officially confirmed her marriage, two months after sharing an ambiguous post that hinted at the union.
Appearing on Samaa TV's morning show, Abbasi disclosed that she and her husband tied the knot three months ago.
During the program, Abbasi discussed her extensive showbiz career and her close friendship with actor Shahood Alvi. Addressing the topic of her marriage, she revealed that she is now happily living with her husband, who is a businessman unaffiliated with the entertainment industry.
The actress shared that their married life is progressing smoothly. When asked about the decision to marry, Abbasi credited her daughter, Anzaila Abbasi, for advising her to take the step. She also mentioned that her family, including her close friend Shahood Alvi, supported her decision.
Abbasi explained that she had delayed her marriage due to prior responsibilities, including caring for her ill parents and supporting her unmarried siblings, including actress Anushe Abbasi.
The relationship between Javaria Abbasi and her husband developed over time, beginning when they met at an event. He proposed, but she initially hesitated due to her responsibilities.
Abbasi mentioned that veteran actresses Bushra Ansari and Samina Ahmed, who married later in life, inspired her. Conversations with Ansari further encouraged her to take the plunge.
Despite facing criticism on social media for marrying later in life, Abbasi received significant support from her fans, who defended her decision. In May, she shared a photo from the Eiffel Tower in Paris, subtly announcing the new chapter in her life.
Jawaria Abbasi's first marriage to actor Shimoun Abbasi ended in divorce in 2007. They had married in 1997 and welcomed their daughter, Anzeela Abbasi, two years later. Following their separation, Shimoun Abbasi remarried for the third time.
