Gwadar is preparing to transform into a bustling international trade center as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) enters its second phase. Several mega projects have been completed, positioning the port city for significant economic development.
Key completed CPEC projects in Gwadar include:
1. New Gwadar International Airport: $230 million
2. East Bay Expressway: $179 million
3. Gwadar Port: $300 million
4. China-Pakistan Friendship Hospital: $100 million
5. Gwadar Vocational Training Center: $10 million
6. Gwadar Water Desalination Plant: $12.7 million
Additionally, two free zones covering 2,281 acres have been established. The Green Palms Gwadar housing scheme, spanning 1,065 acres, has also been developed.
These projects, totaling over $800 million in investment, are expected to boost Gwadar's infrastructure and economic capacity, paving the way for its emergence as a major regional trade hub.
