Ryan Reynolds has admitted to his involvement in the infamous leak of the original 'Deadpool' footage.
This surprising admission came during a recent Vanity Fair lie detector interview with his Marvel co-star, Hugh Jackman.
The 47-year-old actor, along with Jackman, had just concluded their promotional activities for their latest Marvel release, 'Deadpool & Wolverine,' when they sat down for the interview. The two stars took turns questioning each other while connected to a polygraph machine, leading to some revealing and humorous exchanges.
Jackman, known for his portrayal of Wolverine, did not hesitate to ask his longtime friend about the 2014 leak that had a significant impact on the 'Deadpool' franchise.
“The test footage for the original Deadpool leaked on the internet. Were you behind the leak?” Jackman inquired.
Reynolds, known for his quick wit, initially dodged the question with a playful response, “That’s a great question. This is a great question. Pass.” However, the lie detector technician prompted Reynolds to provide a clear answer, leading to his eventual confession.
“Well, for f**k’s sakes. I mean, I might have provided an assist. I was Scottie Pippen!” Reynolds admitted, adding humorously, “I was just there doing my job, and someone else gets all the credit.”
The leaked footage, which surfaced online in 2014, played a crucial role in reviving the 'Deadpool' project, ultimately leading to the film's green light by the studio.
