Security forces successfully neutralised five terrorists in three separate intelligence-based operations (IBO) across different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military's media wing said on Monday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), In a operation in the Mohmand district, three terrorists, including a key figure identified as "Kharji alias Qari of Fitna Al Khawarij," were eliminated.
The operation also led to the discovery of a terrorist hideout, resulting in the seizure of a substantial cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives. Tragically, Police Constable Abrar Hussain from Swabi embraced shahadat during the intense exchange of gunfire.
In another IBO in Dera Ismail Khan, security forces engaged and neutralized "Kharji Sifatullah Mullah Mansoor of Fitna Al Khawarij," a terrorist involved in numerous attacks, including a suicide bombing in Daraban on December 12, 2023. Three other terrorists sustained injuries during this operation.
The third engagement took place in North Waziristan, where another terrorist associated with Fitna Al Khawarij was eliminated by the security forces.
The ISPR emphasised that Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to collaborating with other law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and stability in the country.
The sacrifices of brave personnel like Constable Abrar Hussain further solidify this resolve, the statement added.
