The weather in Karachi turned pleasant as clouds hovered over the sky, and a drizzle brought relief to residents.
Early in the morning, various areas, including Defence, Clifton, and Boat Basin, experienced intermittent drizzle, enhancing the overall pleasant atmosphere.
The Met Department has forecasted a possibility of rain in the city today, with drizzle expected to continue during the morning and evening hours. This marks the fifth spell of the monsoon season, set to begin on August 13. Despite the cloudy skies and drizzle, sea breezes are expected to remain completely calm.
The current temperature in Karachi stands at 28 degrees Celsius, with the maximum temperature likely to reach 32 degrees Celsius. Winds are blowing from the southwest at a speed of 7km per hour, and the humidity level in the air is 88%, according to the Met Department.
Lahore
In Lahore, the early morning weather is also pleasant, with the wind starting to blow across the city. The Met Department has issued a forecast for rain today, prompting local authorities to take precautionary measures.
The deputy commissioner of Lahore has issued alerts to the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) and the Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL), advising citizens to avoid unnecessary outings during the rain to ensure safety.
However, the monsoon rains have also increased the risk of dengue in the city. Yesterday, two new cases of dengue were reported, raising concerns about the spread of the disease. Additionally, over 300 locations were reported to have accumulated water, which can serve as breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
Authorities are urging residents to take necessary precautions to protect themselves from dengue and to stay indoors as much as possible during the rain to prevent any further spread of the disease.
