Google for Startups has announced the launch of "AI Academy," a program designed to promote artificial intelligence in Pakistan and the Asia Pacific region. This initiative is part of Google's efforts to support developing and diverse startup communities worldwide.
The AI Academy, stemming from the Google Chrome Book Initiative, will work with SIFC to create cross-border partnerships in Pakistan. The program aims to nurture over 20 startups, developing various AI-based products under the guidance of global experts.
Google will provide up to $350,000 in cloud credits as startup funds. Farhan S. Qureshi, Google's Country Director for Pakistan, stated that this program demonstrates Google's commitment to advancing AI development across the Asia Pacific region.
The initiative is expected to help position Pakistan as a "global center" for AI development in the Asia Pacific region, potentially strengthening the country's IT sector and economy.
