The Islamabad High Court has declared the petitions filed by the founder of PTI and Bushra Bibi against their arrest in the Toshakhana 2 case as ineffective, leading to their dismissal.
During the hearing, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor informed the court that the Toshakhana reference had been officially filed, giving the accused the option to apply for post-arrest bail.
Advocate Salman Safdar representing the petitioners, argued that the court had previously noted the vagueness of the call-up notices issued in the case.
He highlighted that this is the second legal action related to the Toshakhana gifts and questioned the legitimacy of filing the reference when fundamental rights issues were still pending before the court.
IHC Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb inquired whether the prosecution had responded to the court's earlier questions, including those concerning the call-up notices.
The investigating officer (IO) stated that a reply had been submitted, but advocate Salman Safdar pointed out that as of this morning, he had not received the reference number.
Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb continued to record the prosecutor's statement as the hearing proceeded, emphasizing the court's focus on the legal intricacies of the case.
